What makes Awesome Proms different?

For over 15 years, Awesome Proms has been doing the hottest school dances in Texas!  Incredible sound and light shows, giant screen music video and experienced Houston DJs that know how to get the party started come together to make your school dances and proms events to remember.

Our Story...

The Awesome Proms story began in 1992 in West Texas.  As a junior in high school, I was hired by an Amarillo radio station to turn its struggling mobile DJ service around.  What I lacked in experience, I made up for with enthusiasm and in a short time, business was booming.  Over the next two years, the KISS-FM Dance Machine became the top entertainment choice of over half the high schools in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles and Eastern New Mexico.

Unfortunately, the station sold and changed from live top 40 to a satellite delivered hard rock format.  The new owners had no interest in being in the mobile DJ business, so I started my own while moving to the other top 40 station in town.  Z-93's Entertainment Express was born, and over the next five years continued to dominate the school dance scene in West Texas.

In the late 90s, having worked every air shift, I decided to start looking for opportunities in larger radio markets.  Over the next several years, I worked on air at Austin's 96.7 KHFI, Oklahoma City's Wild 97.9 and Tulsa's 92.1 KISS-FM, and Entertainment Express did many great events in each city.  In 2007, I made one final move to Houston.  These days, my radio work is primarily on the technical side where I'm the Chief Engineer for three Houston stations, but I still do one weekly air shift on 104.1 KRBE.

In 2010, Entertainment Express / Awesome Proms is better than ever.  After just two years in the Houston area, we have an amazing roster of DJ talent and spectacular sound, light and giant screen music video shows that are second to none.  I invite you to explore our site and see how we can help you make your next prom or other special event truly memorable for all the right reasons!
